XXXIII Economic Forum in Karpacz

XXXIII Economic Forum in Karpacz, one of the largest political and economic debates in the country and Central and Eastern Europe.

One of the most important topics of the event was the need to change the security architecture, both in the context of the war in Ukraine and protection against all potential threats to which the Critical Infrastructure of the Country is increasingly exposed.
This year’s edition addressed security challenges related to technological development and the use of artificial intelligence, as well as increasing the competitiveness of Polish cyber SMEs on the market. We took the floor in person in this last discussion. The CEO of DYNACON Sp. z o.o., Andrzej Cieślak, has been developing not only our company, but also Polish technological thought for almost 20 years. The cybersecurity industry, as a relatively new one, imposes a constant correlation of business activities with the development of legislation, the resulting legal requirements, but also the still necessary development of increased awareness and social responsibility. The offers and competences of Polish cyber SMEs classify us at the level of Cybersecurity Communication Leaders. We match the quality of our foreign competitors, but we still have to prove our position. It is not easy, because financially we are not able to break through to the level of global brands in terms of marketing and lobbying.
To the important question that arises in the discussion, what hinders development, makes it difficult to stay on the cyber market, and what forms of support are needed for SMEs, we answer: do not interfere and stop discriminating against Polish products. Efficient performance of business activities and, above all, the ability to focus on R&D activities is the driving force of companies in the cybersecurity industry. However, we would like greater trust in our own market and, above all, greater awareness of buyers. Companies looking for IT/OT security solutions, especially the supply chain increased by the NIS2 directive, do not always, and above all, not immediately understand cybersecurity processes, especially from the technological and implementation side. The “automatic” selection of well-known foreign solutions and popular brands gives a sense of comfort. But true security is only provided by leaving the comfort zone. Our Clients must understand the processes and solutions that we implement for them. And if these are new topics for them or there are competence gaps in the organization, we make sure to fill them with knowledge and skills. Only a conscious purchase-sale transaction of cybersecurity solutions is able to deliver the effectiveness expected by Clients and required by law.
